Sony Computer Entertainment has teamed up with British developer Nosebleed Interactive to create The Hungry Horde for PS Vita.

The Hungry Horde is a zombie combat game where you play as the zombies and the goal is to bite as many humans as possible in order to create an army of the undead. You will will then use your zombie horde to take down the human defenses before your time runs out and the city gets nuked.

Andreas Firnigl from Nosebleed Interactive states that the game is packed with tons of content and extra features to discover and unlock. One of those is the ability to customize your horde with the zombie creator which will allow you to change the appearance of your Minecraft-inspired zombies.

Also included in the game are a series of mini-games such as “Zombat,” an arcade game where your zombie gets to play as a human who runs around and shoots zombies. There is also “Conga Zombies” where you will guide a train of zombies around the disco dance floor as you find more delicious brains to devour.

The game will be launching sometime later this year and as of right now, it looks to be a PS Vita exclusive. In the meantime, check out the announcement trailer to see the game in action.

Anyone else getting a When Vikings Attack! vibe from this game? That was a fun game, and my fingers are crossed that The Hungry Horde will be as well.

I’m a little tired of zombies. But, hey, that’s not saying this game couldn’t be fun. I’m just experiencing Zombie fatigue. I like the idea of overwhelming the humans with my horde of zombies. Zombie Tycoon had that promise, but didn’t deliver in a way I found enjoyable. Perhaps this one will do the trick?

Looks like it could be fun. We shall see.
