Well that was not what we were hoping for. Gamescom was a bit of a disappoint me as many of us know, and we at The Vita Lounge get to together in the latest episode of The Vita Cast to talk about what we thought. Other than that we still talk the usual news, new releases, what we’ve been playing, and some listener mail.

Don’t forget to email your questions and comments to us at podcast@thevitalounge.net – we’ll do our best to feature them on our next show – as well as taking a minute to subscribe to our new iTunes podcast listing. If iTunes just isn’t your thing, we always have our direct downloads which are available here.

Enjoy the episode!

Tyler Olthoff is a 24 year old who has been gaming since he can remember. In love with almost all types of games, the only type he can't stand (and that's probably because he sucks at it) is fighting games. His favorite genres would have to be shooters, RPGs, and adventure games. He owns almost every new system out there including PS4, PS3, XB1, PSVita and the 3DS, but barely plays any of them as it's mainly his good old Vita getting the attention!

SCEE think that talking about Vita is like farting out loud in public.

Did you really want to see indie games on Vita on conference? I didn’t. The only game worth showing on conference that he mentioned was Tales of Hearts R. Shahid just embaressed himself, by that indie tirade.

The thing is… they don’t really need to talk about PS4 as much as they did on the launch. They are winning the war with XBONE with ratio 3 to 1. It is already done… but no… they think that slaughtering enemy is more important than rescuing Vita. That’s a kid fight like in kindergarten.

What I expect from SCEE is:
at least 6 games with nice retail editions in Europe THAT I AM intereted in.

I don’t need indies because I can play those year earlier on PC paying like 1$ for bundles.

Your post is ridiculous because besides the fact that I would have loved to see indies for vita at the conference “What I expect from SCEE is:at least 6 games with nice retail editions in Europe THAT I AM intereted in.”
Are you insane? How on earth would any games company guarantee you 6 retail games that you are personally interested in? Should they account for your taste and your taste alone when they make 6 games? You’re not the only person in the world.

Damm $20 for Soul Sacrifice Delta, why did it have to go on sale now? Its such a bad time for me to buy it, too busy with my current catalog and so many vita games on pre-order. Sob…I might actually have to pass on that sale 🙁

They did such a bad job with psmobile. It was there last real shot at being able to create a gaming tablet, and to become to mobile what steam is to pc gaming. Ps Mobile should have been on as many androids as possible, and iOS, on the vita and vita tv, but also on the ps4. That way it’d have a userbase large enough to get developer support for both games and apps. Then if they were to release a gaming tablet, a vita HD with more memory for multitasking and a larger screen but playing the same games, they would be able to get genuine app support.

They missed out on an opportunity to have a gaming tablet when they reacted to homebrew on the psp the way they did. And now that android and iOS have blown up, it’s damn near impossible to compete with your own OS because they already have a massive lead as far as apps and userbase goes. Microsoft can’t even get far with Windows phones because they were late to the party.
