You’ve got to love Twitter. It gives you a way to directly communicate with game makers and allow them to instantly respond to you. Recently, after scouring the Disney Infinity website, I reached out to John Vignocchni, the Executive Producer for Disney Infinity, and inquired about the lack of mentioning the PS Vita anywhere on the Infinity site. My fear was that it was silently canceled, and we should just be waiting for the inevitable news. Thankfully, that is not the case.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the reason I could find no mention of Vita on the site is simply because the Inifinity site needed to be updated.

Further more, following that, Mathew Solie, a Producer at Disney Interactive who is working on the Vita version of Infinity replied with the following Tweet:

So fear not Vita fans, Disney Infinity 2.0 will be heading to the Vita in the Spring of next year and according to sources close to the project, they are going to “crush it.” Not that they’re biased in anyway, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Aw crap. I sure hope that’s not just in time for Disney Infinity 3.0, where the Star Wars characters that Disney owns are playable… ‘Cuz if so… I fear for my wallet…

I’m hoping they can just roll the Star Wars characters into 2.0. Though to be honest, I’m only really interested in the traditional Disney characters. I was just hoping it would be a little sooner than Spring.

        I hope so, too.

      • No chance, but you can expect them in Disney Infinity 3.0 which will most likely launch holiday 2015 just in time to promote Star Wars Episode VII in theaters.

I wonder how will NFC work with the PSVita.

  • Ahh yeah I was always a little worried that this wasn’t actually coming to Vita. Glad to see it is 🙂 Looks entertaining

  • Thats quite a delay from the console release but if does well they might get skylanders to finally release a game on the vita to compete.
