10Tons latest release will be a remastered version of their debut title.

Jaakko Maaniemi, PR Coordinator of 10Tons, has taken to the Playstation Blog to reveal the independent developers latest offering for the PS Vita. Next week sees the release of Crimsonland, a remastered version of the company’s debut title which was originally released in 2003.

The remastered version was release in July for PS4, but Jaakko states in the blog post that after receiving “Surprisingly numerous calls” for a Vita version, the company were happy to deliver.

Described as a simple game, Crimsonland is a top down, dual stick arena shooter. You play as a marine, who has a lot of nasty alien creatures to deal with. The best way to sort out an alien invasion? Shoot them all of course! The game includes a 60-mission campaign mode, as well as five endless survival modes.

10Tons are well known for creating addictive games with a huge wealth of content. Recent releases include the marble shooting puzzle game Sparkle 2, and the angry bird style, boulder throwing title King Oddball.

Crimsonland will be cross buy with the PS4 version, and will launch August 19th for SCEA and a day later on the 20th for SCEE.

I hope the developer of this game is not looking for some profit.

I absolutely loved King Oddball, but haven’t tried Sparkle 2. Has anyone tried Crimsonland on Vita yet and can offer some opinions?
