Klei Entertainment has revealed today that their game, Don’t Starve: Giant Edition will be coming to the PS Vita on September 2. They have also revealed that while the game will not feature cross-save (due to some technical issues in creating the Vita version), they are making the game cross-buy with the PS4. That means if you own the game for PS4, the Vita version will be coming to you for free.
Don’t Starve: Giant Edition will cost $14.99 and feature new characters, seasons, and other deadly challenges which you’ll have to face. It will also include giants, as the name indicates.
So jump in and try to survive if you dare. The worlds are bigger, the year is longer, and the perils are more lethal than ever before. All this death defying action will be soon coming your way on September 2 in NA and September 3 in Europe for $14.99 or €13.99.
One issue that is unclear at the moment is if PS+ users, who were given the base version of Don’t Starve for free, will be included in the cross-buy offer. The post clearly states that those who already own Don’t Starve: Giant Edition will receive the game for free, which makes it unclear if those without the the Giant Edition will get it as well.
We’ll all find out on September 2.
Update: Klei Entertainment cleared up the confusion on Twitter and made it known that PS+ members who received the game as part of the program will also be getting a copy of the Vita version at no extra charge.
