We last spoke about The Legend of Doodle back in May, and it all seemed to have quiet on the title – which we expected in Q2 – so it was nice to hear from the studio behind the title, The Layabouts.

We have been told that The Legend of Doodle will launch on PC and Mac “soon”, with a Vita release to follow but we were given some new screens and trailers to share with you.

The Legend Of Doodle is a platform game with a focus on elegant simplicity. Guiding the titular hero, Doodle, through a hastily-scribbled world, players will find themselves traveling across looseleaf, construction paper, cardboard, and more on a quest to free the kingdom from the corrupted King HB. Thousands of obstacles stand between them and the end, and it’ll take a keen eye and precision footwork to make it out alive. Interesting secrets, subterranean detours, and hidden collectibles wait around every corner, providing plenty of opportunities for the enterprising explorer to whet their appetite for adventure.

We will bring you more news on the game as we have it. Do you like the look of this one?

Glad to see they partially took advice to make it look less boring but not quite enough. If they want simple why not make it Spectrum style, colour clash and all? Gameplay might be ok but Its just so so uninspired and even would have been in 2008 on iOS. It looks like they don’t care about how their game looks and have given it no character at all. I’m not interested and I’m very disappointed with Sony for allowing this to be developed as a native title. Lets face it, a lot of PSM games show more creativity.

Why is the main character a stick man? At this point it’s pretty clear it’s not place holder art too.

    Looks cute. And brutal.
