Invizimals: The Alliance finally has been given a release date for North America, and you won’t have to wait long. SCEA announced today that we can expect it to come out next week on September 30.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that it appears as though the game is going to be available digitally only with no mention of a retail release. The game is already available in Europe in both a retail and digital package.

It was also revealed that starting today, three classic PSP Invizimal games will also be available for the PS Vita. Invizimals, Invizimals: Shadow Zone, and Invizimals: The Lost Tribes have all be modified to be able to work with the Vita’s built-in camera. All you need to have is at least one AR card in order to get your Invizimal hunting safari underway.

I reviewed Invizimals: The Alliance back in April and discovered it was a lot of fun (more fun that I want to admit, actually), which makes it exciting to hear that an official launch date has finally been announced.

Digital only! Okay definetly not interested anymore.

It’s disappointing, but then you can buy an imported copy off Amazon for $36.

Is there any region specific DLC? Like, that I could only get if I had a EU account? Because, that would play a factor in my decision to import or not.

No. There does not seem to be any region specific DLC that you’d be missing out on. Most of the add-ons for this game come in the form of toys and cards that you’d buy in the store (which aren’t available in the US, as far as I know).

For what it’s worth, I have the game as a UK import and it works perfectly with my NA account.

Also, we don’t know for sure that it isn’t coming as a retail release, they just haven’t said anything about it yet. But next week it is releasing digitally.

I’m going out on a limb and guessing not because I stopped by Gamestop to pick up my copy of Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!! and looked at their upcoming releases for Vita. It’s no longer reservable, and the form I was looking at was last updated on 9/18/14. Also, no Gamestop has a copy of Arcana Heart. Shipping issues. *SIGH* Hopefully tomorrow.

I know. I feel the same and I’m usually okay with digital releases. It’s just that with this game, it’s been available to reserve at gamestop for like, 6 months, and now suddenly: digital only and next week! How lame. I had it pre-ordered too.

I have the EU version and it’s definitely more fun that I want to admit 😉

This game is really feature-rich, or at least more than you would expect: hundreds of different Invizimals, story mode using live-action video with actors, coop, online multiplayer, etc. This (Spanish) developers (Novarama) really poorer their love and passion into this one.

Damn it. And here I had it reserved at Gamestop. No physical copy, I’m not buying this one. I might try out the earlier titles, I’m for some reason fine with those being digital… I guess I got my hopes up with the store listing, and all. I mean, they don’t let you reserve digital games, after all. I guess I’m importing…
