Shu, a beautifully hand drawn 2.5D side-scrolling platformer is heading to the PS Vita and other PlayStation platforms in the middle of 2015. The game comes from Coatsink Software who previously made a handful of mobile games before they decided to make the leap to PC and consoles. Shu, originally conceived of by the developers at Secret Lunch, will be their PlayStation debut and is coming to the PS Vita, PS4, and PS3.
In Shu (which is not to be confused with Shuhei “Shu” Yoshida, Sony’s President of Worldwide Studios) you play as the titular character who is trying to flee a massive and brutal storm. To escape it, you will have to run and jump across forests, savannas, and all the way up to the top of a desolate mountain.
Along the way you will encounter a number of stranded villagers who are seeking refuge from the storm. As you rescue each villager you will be able to harness the special and unique abilities that each one possess. However, if the storm catches up to you and takes away your villager you will lose those powers.
Shu is expected to launch in the middle of 2015 and we will of course bring you more information on the game as it is released. You can check out a trailer for the game below. Enjoy!
