It’s preview time once again, and we’re back to announce October’s PlayStation Plus offerings in both the North American and European regions.

Both Regions

PIX the CAT

“PIX the CAT is an intense arcade game designed to boost your heart-rate! Rescue forsaken ducklings from the nested levels of the infamous GRID of INFINITY. Perfect your skills to SPEED and COMBO UP until you reach the explosive FEVER TIME!”

Rainbow Moon

ss-015

“Rainbow Moon is a beautiful role-playing game filled with exploration, turn-based battles, and character development. Six playable main characters with upgradeable weapons and armor, and more than 20 challenging dungeons await you in a fascinating story that lasts over 40 hours.”

Spelunky

2013-08-31-191025

“Spelunky is a unique platformer with randomized levels that offer a challenging new experience each time you play. Journey deep underground and explore fantastic places filled with all manner of monsters, traps, and treasure.”

See that? Twice in a row, North Americans and Europeans getting the same games on Plus; I think I see a trend coming 😉

All these games can be yours, for the low price of a PlayStation Plus subscription – and that subscription will net you great deals on digital titles as well. If you don’t already have one, I suggest grabbing a year sub – both for the cost to coverage benefits as well as the fact that you’re not going to want it to run out on you 😉

  • Rainbow Moon is a great choice. Very nice SRPG.

    • aros

I didn’t like it, even after several hours Its still very limited.

  • limbclock

I’m interested in Rainbow moon having seen it deeply discounted in the past. I’m also STOKED about Spelunky. I own Spelunky on my Xbox, but i’m excited to try the daily mode and to play it on the go. Pix The Cat seems really interesting and i was planning to buy it before this announcement was made. So i’d say that this is a good month for Vita 😀

  • Lester Paredes

I can finally try rainbow moo. I was planning on getting Pix, so this is a nice surprise.

    • Kyle Wakeling

Is that the game about roleplaying cows? =j

      • Lester Paredes

Dang it, Kyle. You caught my typo before I did. Moo.

    • Buckybuckster

Honestly, it’s one of my all time fave Vita games. Just be aware that in the beginning progress is way slow without some pay to win purchases being done. Even then, things can still seem like a major grindfest. Keep at it and with time you’ll be leveling up like a beast! It’s a very rewarding game to play.
I too was planning to pick up Pix so it’s nice that It will be a part of October’s PS+ free line up!

  • darkknezz

Going to check out Rainbow moon and Pix. I own Spelunky on vita and it is a very good game that will make you want to throw your vita across the room…just dont really do that though.

  • aros

Happy to get Pix the Cat and hope Dust will be cross buy with a Vita version.

  • pimlicosound

I bought Rainbow Moon in one of the sales a few months ago, but I didn’t get on with it. The dungeons are grinds through dozens of identical combat scenarios (same enemies in the same grid layouts), decent loot drops are few and far between (encouraging the grind), and the world and characters feel like placeholders sketched up in a hasty pre-production meeting. I gave up after about six hours.

  • Rodrigo Medina

Didn’t know about this Vita Lounge, found it when searching for Frozen Synapse reviews. I’m glad there’s a site specialized on VITA coverage 🙂

    • Thanks Rodrigo, we’ve been running just over two years but it takes time to get acquainted with everyone! We only got on Metacritic yesterday too, so that’s quite lucky that we found each other! I hope you enjoy visiting the site. 🙂

    • gRANT

Same here, just found them a couple of months ago.

  • gRANT

Finally get try rainbow moon, luv me some grinding(that came out wrong).
