It has been a while since we heard anything about Skullgirls Encore, luckily the developer shared some news about the PS Vita version.

Skullgirls Encore is a hand-drawn 2D fighting game and released early 2014 on PS3, since then we are waiting for a PS Vita version of the game. The developer, Lab Zero Games, explained on the PlayStation Blog why we’re still waiting and also mentioned when we could expect to play Skullgirls Encore on our beloved handheld.

Since its launch, Skullgirls Encore received a couple of updates and DLC on the PS3. These updates consist of tweaks to the battle system, gameplay changes and overall optimization. In addition to these changes there are also three new characters added to the roster. All these changes and additions affect the PS Vita version of Skullgirls Encore in a way the developer felt it neccesary to delay the release. The good news is it is still coming but sadly Skullgirls Encore won’t hit your PS Vita this year.

The video below shows the newest character in Skullgirls Encore; Eliza:

Skullgirls Encore will release on PS Vita in 2015, what do you think of the delay?

  • Lester Paredes

That’s okay, there are plenty of fighting games to keep me occupied until then.

    • Buckybuckster

I was thinking the same thing…quite a few 2D fighters have released over the past 6 months or so.
