Although not technically Vita news, Capcom have announced that Strider 2 will be landing on the NA store next week and will be playable on the PS3, PSP and Vita.

Originally released on the PlayStation in 2000, the title was a sequel to the 1980s arcade classic and is a 2D side-scrolling action/arcade title. I never got a chance to play it, so I’m actually quite interested to see what it’s all about! No news on pricing yet, but we will bring you more news as we have it, especially for those in EU.

Any excited Strider fans happy to hear this news?

Really enjoyed this game on the Playstation when it came out and been wanting it to be released on PSN for ages. It really is a lot of fun, but be warned, this game is very short. It took 7 playthroughs to have unlocked everything, and if I remember correctly, it took me less than 3 hours.

Nice! Would really love to see a Vita port of the current Strider game tho!

I don’t like the original Strider or 2. The artwork for 2 was cool, though. I’d like to try out the current Strider game that’s for PC/PS3/PS4/360/XBone. I think that’d be a great portable experience.

And I assume Europe won’t be getting it just like Megaman. *la sigh*
