Hey guys, remember that Sword Art Online III tease from back at the Tokyo Game Show? Well it’s the 5th in Japan and we’ve got a follow up announcement.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song has been announced for release on the PlayStation Vita (and PS3)!

From what I can read at the Japanese language source, the game will take place in the MMO world of Alfheim Online (or ALO for you SAO aficionados). It’ll feature flying mechanics, and will have an original story that will cover ideas not put forth in the anime or manga.

Check out the premiere video spot;

As of right now we’ve got neither a date for this “2015” Japanese release nor a confirmation that it’s coming West, but as usual we here at The Vita Lounge will keep you updated as this one develops further.

    hm I’m enjoying Hollow Fragment atm and I think they did a good job with that one. So I’m looking forward to this!

  • Very interesting lets hope it comes here and of course Vita FTW! 😀

    Really hoping hollow fragment is selling well, that way namco will see that games like this are worth bringing to NA, specially cyber sleuth.

    This pleases me very much. Now I just have to show my friends who are diehard SAO fans this. 😉

    As long as NamcoBandai doesn’t mess up the localization of this title like they did with Hollow Fragments I could see myself picking it up!

    • Yeah, Hollow Fragment was a mess! That recent patch made some things a little better though. I am very excited at the prospect of the same type of game with a flying element!

    2015 is looking strong for japanese titles. Hoping some of the bigger ones end up being localized!
