We get some new details and footage from the multiplayer portion of The Irregular at Magic High School: Out of Order.

The latest information and media drop from The Irregular at Magic High School: Out of Order has us exploring the multiplayer modes that are playable locally via ad-hoc. Up to four players can play local multiplayer in Out of Order, and they can compete across three different modes; Normal Match, Territory Collapse and Psyon Flag.

Normal Match

Also known as “Interference Intensity Measurement”, a Normal Match is a free magic battle between characters. When a character’s health reaches zero, they’re KO’d, with the player who reaches the set number of knock outs first being the winner. The required number of KOs to win differs depending on the amount of players, with the formula for finding it a very easy “amount of players, plus one”.

Territory Collapse

Also known as “Operation Structure Measurement”, this is a target-style match where players must destroy cores which appear in the field. The player who destroys the most cores will net the highest score and will win the match.

Psyon Flag

Also known as “Operation Velocity Measurement”, Psyon Flag is a capture-the-flag-like mode where players are tasked with acquiring the flags from the “Psyon Flag” points on the field. The player with the most flags when the last flag is collected will be the match winner.

Adding to the gameplay video goodness, we get a look at Miyuki’s fire and ice hell move as well;

The Irregular at Magic High School: Out of Order is due out December 25th in Japan, with no word on a Western localization.

  • They better localize this one or I’ll be flippin’ some tables.

    • Nonscpo

Not sure if it would, the anime has a very limited appeal. I myself have only made it to episode 19, after forcing myself to watch it over time.

      • I really enjoyed the anime. Must admit that the second half was bad (just like SAO), but overall it’s a great anime IMO and that’s why I’d love to see this game localized.

        • Nonscpo

When you say the second half are you reffering to the middle arc that dragged on for over ten episodes?

          • Pretty much starting when the tournament was starting to get tampered with by those corporate businessmen.

          • Nonscpo

Hmm but still its the entire middle of the series, thats going to drag it down worst then the second arc of SAO. At least with SAO you knew that it was important for the overall continuation of the story. Wereas with the Irregular I wanted to rage quit soo many times. Besides this series is so full of its own terminology and references, It fealt like you HAD to read the light novel prior or nothing would make sense.

P.S. I agree with Bitrip I have nothing against incest in anime if its done right, but everything in the anime between those charachters felt uncomfortable and ackward.

        • I LOVE Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. Easily one of my top favorites. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the awkward brother/sister pseudo-romance thing.

          • I wouldn’t mind it if they wouldn’t push it into our faces.
