A new game collection was added to the PSN Store this week called The Grip Games minis Collection which features five great minis games for $4.99. The collection features the classics: The Impossible Game, One Epic Game, Minisquadron, Blimp: The Flying Adventures, and 5-in-1 Arcade Hits. That’s five great games at one low price. But there is one major problem.
The problem is that Grip Games already sells a minis collection for the PS Vita called the 9-in-1 Mega Pack that features: The Impossible Game, One Epic Game, Minisquadron, Blimp: The Flying Adventures, and 5-in-1 Arcade Hits. It’s the exact same content as the new minis Collection. The interesting thing is the Mega Pack only costs $2.99.
So why the price difference? What do you get for your extra two dollars in the minis Collection as opposed to the Mega Pack? Absolutely nothing. In fact, if you’ve already purchased the original Mega Pack you are credited with also owning this new collection. Even stranger is that this new bundle doesn’t replace the old one, it’s in addition to it. You can still purchase the Mega Pack from the PSN Store.
It’s unclear as to why Grip Digital would offer the same content in two different listings with one at a 67% price increase. I have reached out to Grip for a comment but have not received a reply.
Whatever the reason, please be aware that there is a less expensive option already available in the store and this new collection offers no new added value. And for what it’s worth, at $2.99, these are some fantastic games.
