Sony have announced that the PlayStation Vita will launch in China on January 11th, 2015, almost 3 years after it launched in Europe and the US.

Alongside the announcement, Sony also announced that China would get a bundle which comes with a protective case for the PlayStation Vita that features a Chinese dragon design and the console in either Black or White, as seen in the image below.


Also included as part of the announcement, Sony said the following in regards to game releases; “…healthy games that are suitable to China’s national conditions… as according to the relevant government policies.” The announcement follows a recent lift of a 12 year console ban in China.

      Very true it will be interesting to see what the Chinese officials deem suitable for the Chinese audiences. I’m keeping my fingers cross that they allow some decent games that will increase the chances for more localizations 🙂

    That Dragon is lame, couldn’t they have come up with something more contemporary? Oh wait I almost forgot it has to meet the Chinese governments extremely high standards of excellence, damn censorship sucks 🙁
