The Story-telling masters will work with Mojang to create “an entirely original Minecraft Experience” .
Minecraft will be getting the Telltale treatment in Minecraft: Story Mode, which has been revealed as the developers next project. The creators of The Walking Dead: Season One & Season Two, The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands will bring a player-chosen narrative to the sandbox/survival game. Like Telltale’s previous successes, the game will be released episodically, and also similar to previous titles, will be coming to a huge variety of platforms. So far we know it will be released across PlayStation and Xbox platforms, as well as hitting PC, Mac, Android and iOS.
Little is known about the games story at this early stage, except that the game will include new faces, familiar themes and the same Minecrafty art style we all know and love. A nice touch is that feedback will be incorporated from the Minecraft community to make the experience as “Minecrafty” as possible. Mojang stated in a blog post that:
“We’re not intending on creating an ‘official’ story for Steve, or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail, it will be a cool game”
A teaser site has already been set up for the game, and you can have a look here.
Since the release of The Walking Dead: Season One, Telltale have been on a strong winning streak with games that include gripping stories, interesting characters and intense gameplay. With this in mind, you can be sure that all of us here at TVL are extremely excited, and as soon as we have more details on the PS Vita port, we will be the first on the scene to bring you the details.
