Capcom have revealed details on the new mode for Resident Evil: Revelations 2

Revealed back in early December at the PlayStation Experience, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be hitting PlayStation Vita in 2015. Capcom have announced details on a new mode for the game known as Raid Mode, check out the official details below:

The History of Raid Mode

Raid Mode began as an action-packed “shoot-and-loot” style additional mode in the previous Revelations. Players battle their way through an army of enemies on multiple stages in order to collect more powerful weapons. These weapons can be customized to their liking and then used to take on harder stages with even stronger enemies. That finely tuned and satisfying game play loop kept many a player entertained for hundreds of hours even after they had finished the game’s main campaign.

Raid Mode in Revelations 2

Player Customization – In Revelations 2, Raid Mode starts with choosing a character, and there are plenty of characters to match all tastes. After that, you’ll customize your weapons and skills to ready for deployment.

Deployment – Raid Mode has always been about collecting loot such as weapons, custom parts, and currency; in Revelations 2, you’ll also find treasure chests thrown into the mix. Remember, however, your ultimate goal is to always find and break the goal emblem at the end of each stage.

Cooperative Play – Raid Mode allows for cooperative play — including local two-player split-screen! Grab a friend and get ready to shoot your way through one of the most exciting additional modes in Resident Evil history.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be an episodic title which will be released starting in February 2015. Stay tuned to The Vita Lounge for more details as they’re announced.

    Nice!

is this game Digital only ?

    • Yes I believe at least for consoles they’re getting it digital first and then later on they are gonna bundle it onto a CD since its divided into episodes. Maybe we’ll luck out and get the same treatment. But that’s all up to Sony since their team is working on it and what not.

I enjoyed Raid Mode way more than the single player campaign in the first Revelations, so I’m definitely looking forward to it in this one as well.

I know its now an old game now, however i kinda want the first game to come out on Vita.

      Isn’t it on PSN?

Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 from the PS1 are available.
But I think he was asking for the first Resident Evil: Revelations.

I’m a bit worried about how they are emphasizing the shooty action part of this game rather then the survival horror. The actually managed not to screw up Resident Evil: Revelations, so I hope they don’t turn it’s sequel into Resident Evil 6, part 2.

  • Steve Jaworski

I haven’t played a Resident Evil title since Code Veronica on Dreamcast but I remain mildly interested.

  • Jonathan Harding-Rathbone

I wish they hadn’t gone for episodic. I prefer to just buy games outright so will wait until the final part is out before considering. At least the fact that it is episodic means Capcom must be confident of the sustained quality.
