We all know that some games can appear out of the blue and release on our favourite handheld with only a few days notice, but here are the key titles that we can expect this month;

Woah! Dave

Release Date – 6th January NA / 7th January EU

Woah Dave!, the first of this month’s PlayStation Plus titles, is an ode to the platformers of the 80’s with a modern angle, upping the chaos and the challenge to appease the modern gamer.

The developers describe the game best – saying; “The basic premise is that poor Dave has taken it upon himself to protect the city from the relentless invasion of aliens hatching from mysterious eggs that are falling from the sky. The only things in his arsenal against the creatures are the eggs themselves, as well as some menacing-looking glowing skulls and the occasional WOAH block. Once the aliens have hatched, they instinctively make their way down to the lava pit where they spring up in evolved forms, until they’ve evolved to their final form as tenacious Eye Bats.”

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition

Another game gracing PlayStation Plus this month, Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition, is the definitive compilation of the landmark first-person shooter that includes enhanced versions of Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition and three unique expansion packs as well as the original version of the classic game. Duke Nukem battles it out against a slew of alien foes in the original four episode “Atomic Edition” single-player campaign and three over-the-top expansion packs that take the brash ass-kicking hero to a tropical paradise, a winter wonderland, and even Washington D.C.

In Atlus’ Citizens of Earth there are no NPCs, everyone is recruit-able, and your mission is to save the world from whatever it is that’s happening. Something sure is going on, but it’s up to you to find out what!

Here’s the official description from the press release;

“You’re the newly elected Vice President of the World, spending some time in your home town after winning a hard-fought election campaign. But suddenly, the whole world goes crazy-eight bonkers and you’ll need all the help you can get to save it. In Citizens of Earth, the new RPG from ATLUS and Eden Industries, help comes in the form of 40 recruitable citizens, each with unique abilities. Everyone can lend a hand — from the way-too-jittery Barista and the ever-optimistic Weatherlady to the notoriously skeezy Car Salesman.”

    Can someone please tell me if Sony will wait a few more years to support the Vita by putting exclusives and I am losing my patience in Sony’s handling of this system.

    None of the games this year are even appealing to everyone and we might see the system get discontinued by Sony down the line because the lack of sales…

    Trolls will not stop bashing the vita because they know for a fact the vita failed in 2013, this year and now this list for vita looks barren. I might think of selling my vita for its lack of exclusives and support. We already know that Sony said no more AAA games on the vita. First party yes, but I do not know about third party… One game called Resident Evil Revelations 2 will not save the vita at all when it is on other systems that look better. Hate me all you want but I’m tired of defending this system like a plague… Everybody is right about the vita: It failed and it is dead!….

      It turned to be not the console most people was looking for. I think it’s a great console, but I know is not for everyone.

      I think you have to see Vita for what it is now, and not for what can become or not on 2015/2016. If you like it enough keep enjoying it! If not, just sale it. If may be next year there are things you find interesting you can buy another and make something you like with the money now.

      For my perspective Vita is still alive, not for what it’s to come, I have lots of awesome game to play yet!

  • Divinehand123

    So that’s the 4th Atelier game coming to the Vita and they still have yet to lower the price on even one of the titles in the NA! So aggravating that you want to try the series but not want to pay full equal price of a new game just to see if we would like the series or not. At least bring one to plus. I guess they don’t understand when you have digital only releases games should be cheaper at least eventually!

    Real excited for the next Neptunia though. At least I know I’ll buy that day one and brand new and enjoy it.

    Also, here’s to hoping the Fat Princess game has trophies!

    • Sebastian

      Yeah, it’s too bad! Not even a demo, and not available to stream PS Now! It’s a shame too because I NEVER thought I would like this series, but it’s one of my favorite now, especially this one that’s coming out this month (which I’m getting because I don’t have access to my PS3 anymore).

  • Konohana Lucia

    Yes! Sister’s Generation, still waiting for the Hyperdevotion Noire and Hyperdimension U

  • Danny Silvester

    I’m more of a rpg person but I’m so looking forwards to been the duke again! Time to kill was the first fps I truly enjoyed!!!
