As we transition fully into 2015, the PlayStation Blogs have released their best seller lists for 2014 – giving us a look at the most popular digital releases of the past year.

Ha, take that Minecraft!

The crafting title may have been the top of both charts for the past few months, but one of my (and many others’) most anticipated releases of the year – Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment – takes the top spot in North America for the year! That isn’t to say that Minecraft doesn’t do well however, as it sits at #2 in North America and holds that #1 spot in Europe despite my smoldering hate. 😉

Other notable inclusions include Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z at #4 in NA and #16 in EU and the fan favourite Final Fantasy X/X2 at #5 in NA and #6 in EU – meanwhile the European list (which is longer) manages to showcase two additional new-in-2014 titles Borderlands 2 at #12 and OlliOlli at #18.

Check out the rest of the lists below, and let us know what you think of the results in the comments!

So am I the only one who doesn’t own MInecraft? Other than that, I own 70% of the top games on the NA list….so good job me!

    • Nope, I’m in the exact same boat as you – other than only owning 50% of them.

Dont feel bad Im in the same shoe. Minecraft to me is a game with too much multiplayer interactivity, plus Im not a kid anymore, so I dont have all the time in the world to hunt down people to play with online or on the couch 🙁

I dont get how SAO made it to the no. 1 spot with all the translation issues it had. Sure its based off a popular Anime franchise, that franchise had some ups and downs too!

  • novurdim

    No Danganronpa 🙁
