When Sony announced their plans for the PS Now subscription plan, they said that it would be coming first to the PS4 followed by the other consoles at a later date. Now that the subscription plan has gone live, it turns out that Vita owners don’t necessarily have to wait. If you have a PS4, you can play any of the 100 available games on your Vita right now.
To play the subscription games on the Vita, you must first sign up for the service on your PS4. After you choose either the one month or three month plan, you will be shown a screen featuring all the games currently available.
Once you start up any game on the PS4 it will automatically be added to your My PS Now Games collection in the PS Now app. These games will show up in the app on your Vita under the Play History section and are able to be played. You won’t have the option to browse through the catalog yet, but if you have at least started the game on the PS4, it will be available to play on the Vita as well.
There is also a 7 day free trial for the service, so you can use it for a week free of charge to make sure it works for you. If you’re not happy with the service, just cancel before your trial runs out.
Update: As Patrick noted in the comments, it turns out that you don’t even need to start the game on the PS4 to access them on the Vita. After signing up for the service, all games available under the subscription will show up on PS Now as “Playable” in the All Games section. Simply select one of the games and start playing.
