New Spongebob game set to release in the US next week.

Activision have released a new set of screenshots for their upcoming Spongebob game, Spongebob Heropants. The game ties in with the upcoming movie The Spongebob Movie: Sponge out of Water, and sees the childhood favourite characters get super powers, which the game will include.

Let us know if you’ll be picking this one up, and more importantly whether you’d like a Krabby Patty in the comments below!

we are going to play only as plankton!?
    … FUCK IT, cancelling pre-order!

Obviously not! When they announced it, they said 6 playable characters!

Every time I see a Spongebob game, I keep hoping for a 2D game. They always end up looking kinda blah in 3D.

    All that 3D goodness!!!

Wow! An actual physical release from Activison for the Vita. It’s only Jan and they’ve already met their quota for the year!

All kidding aside, I hope the game does well on the system for them. The Vita could always use more games for the younger set as well as those of us who are young at heart. Come to think of it, they should attempt some sort of Vita bundle aimed at kids. Maybe it would sell, maybe not. But, it couldn’t possibly hurt anything by trying.

I just got the game for the Vita, and it’s not bad. Good graphics with a fairly easy platformer. Also has voices and you can play as any character (I’m playing as Squidward, and it’s funny to hear his bitchy voice every once in a while-as all characters share their voices on the game which is a plus. I just started it, and it’s probably not the best SpongeBob game, but it certainly isn’t the worst.
