Renegade Kid’s Xeodrifter: Special Edition has been confirmed for release on PlayStation Vita sometime this April by word of Gambitious Digital Entertainment.

Xeodrifter: Special Edition is a “Metroidvania” side-scrolling shooter that was originally released on Nintendo consoles. Thanks to Renegade Kid’s partnership with Gamitious Digital Entertainment, Xeodrifter has been given a new release, and is joining the Vita family. Copies of the game will include a developer diary with detailed information about its development, and Xeodrifter’s soundtrack.

Jools Watsham, Renegade Kid’s Co-Founder and Creative Director, had the following to say about Xeodrifter’s re-release;

“Working with the Gambitious team to bring Xeodrifter to a wider audience on PC and home console is something we’re extremely excited about. Xeodrifter: Special Edition is a great way for players to get their hands on the game, the awesome OST, and a detailed behindthescenes look at how a few friends managed to cobble together a great game!”

    The trailer says it’s coming in April, which narrows it down a bit.

    • I take full responsibility for that. I need to pay more attention. That’s embarrassing. Updated the article.

        Don’t worry about it – I barely noticed it myself.

    I use to buy most good looking indie games on the Vita, but lately, there are just too many. I’m going to have to start to pay attention to the reviews for these games.

    I’m such a sucker for Metroid style games…
