Series writer Kodaka Kazutaka has revealed the state of the most recent Danganronpa iteration to hit the drawing board.
Originally hinted at in an interview with Terasawa just over a year ago, Danganronpa 3 would be the fourth iteration in the series chronologically (if you count the bridging title Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, which most do) and the third main series game. If it’s anything like past games, it’ll involve a bunch of kids put in an inescapable situation and forced to get along until a motive is presented to the contrary – but as of right now, what the game will be isn’t quite clear.
“Until everything’s been written, there’s nothing that’s set,” Kazutaka told a representative from Polygon at GDC 2015 (this year’s Game Developers Conference), “So to answer your question, it’s still very early because the scenario isn’t written yet.”
So it looks like we may be waiting a little while for Danganronpa 3, but if you still haven’t picked up Danganronpa or its sequel they’re available physically and digitally in the West right now.
As for the third title, Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls; it’ll be bridging the gap between the first two titles sometime this Fall.
