Marvelous has announced that their newest mixed media 3D action game Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni will be releasing late this year.

According Gematsu, the game takes place in a universe where young people are suddenly infected with a strange virus that temporarily turns them into a weapon if they acquire neurological enhancements. Valkyrie Drive’s story revolves around a group of girls who identify themselves as “Rebreakers” and are the only ones who can handle these types of weapons.

The gameplay is described as a 3D action beat ’em up much like Marvelous’ famous game series Senran Kagura, with an added emphasis on teamwork. Also like the Senran Kagura franchise, strong attacks can rip the clothes off enemies and your teammates alike.

Along with the announcement two characters have been revealed from the Vita title – sisters Ranka and Rinka Kagurazaka;

      The yuri doesn’t hurt, of course.
