A new game in the Mystery Dungeon series has been revealed for PlayStation Vita release in Japan, titled Mystery Chronicle: I Won’t Look Back Until I Win.
Mystery Chronicle: I Won’t Look Back Until I Win (known as Fushigi no Chronicle: Furikaerimasen Katsu Madewa in the original Japanese) is a roguelike RPG which is also force-scrolling – meaning that it forces you to move away from a danger zone (in this case a deadly light) which consumes the world as time passes.
Mystery Chronicle is literally based on a foundation of Smoking Wolf’s similarly styled One Way Heroics game, producers Yuichiro Saito and Yoshinori Terasawa noting that they were originally porting it when all these new ideas for tweaking the game hit them. They then asked the developer if they could simply use his game as the base for their new one instead – to which he apparently agreed.
A game about avoiding the “Shine Raid” (that deadly light we mentioned) while battling enemies, picking up items, and invading randomly generated dungeons – this one’s going to be quite the trip down the rabbit hole when it releases in the next little bit.

Mystery Chronicle: I Won’t Look Back Until I Win is scheduled to hit Japan this Spring, so keep an eye on TVL as this one develops further.
