Take a glimpse at the massive enemies you’ll face in the debut trailer. Developer Acquire has dropped the first trailer for Metropolis Defenders, the upcoming defence game releasing on both PS Vita and PS3 in July. The game has you defending a fortress city, which is surrounded by massive rings, which are rotatable. By turning the rings, you will ward off the massive enemies that want to attack your beloved city and its inhabitants. Check out the trailer below:

We were also given the games prologue, courtesy of Famitsu:

Altanight. An underground resource that appeared after the “Invisible End,” which was intended to be the final refuge for the many whose lives were destroyed. However, a gigantic life-form soon emerged, and even the Altanight was snatched away.

Then, about a half century later…

After a great deal of sacrifice from our predecessors, us humans finally became able to construct a city that can defend against the enemy. In order to move towards the future, and in order to destroy the enemy, we must expand the city and continue to protect the people.

Zettai Geigeki Wars: Metropolis Defenders is set to release on July 2nd in Japan, and will be priced at 5,980 yen (£33.72/£49.55) on PS Vita. You can bet TVL will be here to give you all the latest details as we draw ever nearer to the release date!
