Some new information has come to light concerning the Vita version of Disney Infinity 2.0. According to GameStop’s website the Vita starter pack is going to a GameStop exclusive.

You can now pre-order the starter pack for $59.99 with a listed release date of May 9. This is slightly earlier than the previous date we were given of May 15.

The starter pack will include:

  • 2.0 Edition Game Software (PS Vita Cartridge)
  • Exclusive Black Suit Spider-Man Figure
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man Play Set Piece
  • 2 Marvel Super Heroes Toy Box Game Discs (ESCAPE FROM THE KYLN and ASSAULT ON ASGARD Discs)
  • 1 Web Code Card
  • Disney Infinity Wireless Bluetooth Base with Rechargeable Batteries
  • USB Recharging Cable (no wall plug adapter)

Disney Infinity has been no stranger to store exclusives. Previously they have partnered with GameStop, Target, and Toys ‘R Us in the US to offer exclusive figures and power discs. It should be no surprise that they would partner with GameStop for this starter pack.

There has been no official word from Disney Interactive (or John Vignocchi’s Twitter account) confirming the exclusivity deal.

Really not surprised. Haven’t seen a SKU for the game at work, so this is most likely the case. At least we are getting it. PS TV compatible too!

I’m really excited about this release. I have a feeling it’s not going to run great, but the idea of building toy boxes on the Vita while watching TV is very appealing.

  • The ball is now in your court Activision, where the hell is Skylanders on the vita?

  • Gah, I have to import my US games, making this a store exclusive sucks as I’ll have to get someone to buy and ship it for me 🙁
