Square Enix is bringing free-to-play title Rise of Mana to PlayStation Vita in Japan, and the release date is closer than you might think.

Just announced recently for release this Spring, Rise of Mana has been confirmed to be hitting this week in Japan on May 14th – but is actually available for pre-release download right now on the Japanese PSN if you’re eager (and want the early access bonus item Bastard Sword).

A game in the vein of Secrets of Mana, Rise of Mana features three of the protagonists – Randi, Primm, and Popol – from the earlier title, and promises to deliver some interesting 3D action/role-playing when it hits imminently.

Not another free to play title 🙁

Lets just hope this isn’t gonna suck! I mean, it’s still free to play but… Well, it comes from Square-Enix but… OK it might suck. But…
      Never mind.

I’d be more excited if it weren’t free to play, but if it does come over, I’ll give it a shot.
