A brand new firmware update has been issued for the PlayStation Vita.

Rolling out right now and not very big in size (according to how long it took to download), the newest iteration of the PlayStation Vita’s firmware is designated version 3.51 and offers no change log on install.

That said, as we’ve talked about with past updates an update to the third number in the sequence indicates a minor update, and this doesn’t seem to be anything different – offering no new features or changes at a first glance.

Either way (whether a bugfix or otherwise), any update means the possibility for improved function with already present features (including games)… so maybe it’s a time to start those update cycles and get back into some games. 😉

I like when there is no change log 🙂

Not in my hands. It gets as much use as my PS3 and PS4.

I play my Vita daily. One of the best investments I ever made!

You gotta love these guest coming out of nowhere trying to get people to defend there purchase, guess what? The Vita is a fine handheld as it is, we don’t need you approval!

I was viewing the home page and noticed that the number of respondents was rather large for a story on a minor update. Thought that maybe something was up. And I see that is the case.

I love how my Vita peeps defend the system so passionately. But you gotta know that people like our “guest” say crap like that just to get a rise out of us. I find it better to never give them what they want with a response. And yes, I know it’s really hard not to. But we Vita owners are an intelligent lot. That intelligence shouldn’t be squanderd on the likes of our guest. Let him or her get their jollies elsewhere.

Is anyone having problems with this update (3.5.1)? Some people on the PS Forums have run into issues, so I’ve been holding off updating for now. TIA.
