Famitsu have previewed an intriguing looking title from Marvelous that is called Net High both online and in this week’s issue of their magazine.

Described as an adventure game, you are an internet user who goes around looking for imposters. In Japan, the term ‘riajuu’ is used online as a way of describing those people who live fulfilling lives. In Net High, protagonist Oreshi (a part-time jobber and non-riajuu) goes around town attempting to expose those that lead fake lives on the world wide web using internet-based methods.

Oreshi wants to find out whether these people are truly just satisfied with their real life, if they are lying altogether or if there is a deeper secret!

The game will progress in two ways. The first part is where you will gather information from your social networks, collating evidence with an AI known as Cil that is loaded into Oreshi’s wearable device. Once you have done this you will engage in ‘Flame Wars’ where you will have to uncover your opponents lies and point out the truth about their real lives.

Set to release this fall in Japan, be sure to keep an eye on TVL for more news on Net High as and when we have it!

I can’t help but think that this sounds like a video game version of the TV show Catfish.

    Seems like an eccentric title!
