Japanese developers Inside System and Fly High Works have announced that they are bringing platformer The Legend of Dark Witch to the PlayStation Vita.

This Mega-Man style platformer originally released on the 3DS and tasks you with collecting the Syega Crystals – a mysterious energy that used to power the world but has since been stolen. You will play as the dark witch Zizou and will take on bosses and learn new abilities in a bid to save the world.

With higher-res visuals, bug fixes, multiple languages, faster load times and trophy support, the developers are certainly putting a lot of effort into ensuring The Legend of Dark Witch‘s transition to the PlayStation Vita is a smooth one.

The game is set to release in Japan later this month for 400 yen (approx. $3.30/£2.15), and Circle Entertainment (who published the 3DS game internationally) have said that they plan to release the PlayStation Vita version globally.

There is a trailer below of the game in action (albeit a trailer for the 3DS version) although the images of the game in the gallery below and up top are taken from the PS Vita version.

Looks cute. Color me interested. I think that’s a chartreuse…

Safe to guess it will be digital only.

A classically designed 2D platformer… nice! Kinda reminds me more of Wonder Boy. Speaking of which, haven’t heard much news on that one in a while.

I’m really excited about this game. I played it on the 3DS and thought it was fun, glad that they’re trying to fix some of the bugs for the Vita release.
