PEGI, the European games rating board, made an interesting announcement early this morning when it revealed that Civilization Revolution 2 Plus from Take2 Interactive has been rated for the PlayStation Vita.

Civilization Revolution 2 was released last year for mobile devices and there has yet to be any official mention of a port of the game for the Vita. It’s possible that the news of it coming was being held back as an E3 surprise, but the cat is out of the bag.

The game was given a rating of “12” for “non-realistic looking violence toward human characters.”

Hopefully Sony or Take 2 Interactive will shed more light soon as to pricing, availability and “official” confirmation of its existence.

E3 is just a few weeks away, so we shouldn’t have too long to wait.

    Hope this is true!!!

This game is great, played a lot on iPad. The thing is, the iPad heats so much that I can’t play for too long without cooking my fingers.
A Vita version would be better because of this heating issue, physical controls and of course trophies.
I believe that Strategy is the category that Vita lacks the most, so those are very good news indeed.

Thinking the same, the huge file size and battery drain prevented me from playing as much as I would like on my phone

Hopefully it comes to NA too.

I loved Civ Rev 1 on PS3 so I hope the “Plus” Vita port of 2 is enjoyable (I have no idea what it’s like on mobile).

If its the same we saw on iOS, its quite similar to Civ Rev on PS3.

Its the exact same game as the first iOS port, with improved graphics (the first game was pretty ugly). Probably is just that with some extra civilizations.

I hope this is true. I loved Civ Rev on PS3 (even though I stunk at it). Now, all we’d need is X-com…

I hope this is true to. Speaking of X-com, wasn’t a port of one of the games in the franchise announced for Vita eons ago?

      • Lester Paredes

Sadly, that was just a rumor, it seems. Makes me weep at the loss, but happy because X-Com on PC are enough of my time, I can’t imagine what it it’s to have it portable… I avoided the mobile pretty for that very reason. But on vita, I’d have to get it. Sure hope it materializes one day.
