June is looking to be a busy month for PlayStation Vita owners with a handful of big releases coming to the handheld! Steins;Gate, LEGO Jurassic World and J-Stars Victory VS+ are just some of the games you can look forward to in the coming weeks.

Now we all know that some games can appear out of the blue and release on our favourite handheld with only a few days notice, but here are the key titles that we can expect this month;

Sparkle Unleashed

Release Date – June 2nd NA / June 3rd EU

Sparkle Unleashed will give players the ball busting action that they’ve come to expect in Sparkle but with a new twist. The introduction of the floating orb slinger along the bottom of the screen changes the dynamic in which this match-three marble shooter works. Sparkle Unleashed will feature 108 new and challenging levels, two additional difficulty settings, a never-ending Survival Mode, 18 unique powerups to clear the screen and new challenges such as the Chained and Rock orbs!

Super Exploding Zoo

Release Date – June 2nd NA / June 3rd EU

In Super Exploding Zoo you will have to round up exploding animals and rampage around 80 destructible levels – defending your precious egg by slamming your herd into the greedy alien marauders and blowing them up! You will need to utilise the special skills of different animal types to slow alien progress or to access new areas! You can challenge yourself with a mode featuring endless randomly-generated levels, or challenge your friends in the multiplayer modes – going head-to-head against them whether they have a PlayStation Vita or  a PlayStation 4!

Tetris Ultimate

Release Date – June 2nd NA / TBC EU

The game that needs no introduction, Tetris Ultimate,  includes both single player and multiplayer modes, including 6 different modes of play (5 reborn from previous fan favourites) and a worldwide leaderboard – it’s nothing short of the best Tetris experience on the go!

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy

Release Date – June 5th EU / June 9th NA

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy is set in a version of Tokyo from not too far in the future; a place where monsters known as Variants keep the city under constant threat, and portals that lead to a mysterious dimension known as “the Abyss” have emerged. In reponse to this threat, the govenment establishes the Code Physics Agency – a unique group of teenagers modified by the Code Physics Agency’s Code technology. You are put in the role of one of these teenagers, and it’s your duty to take on whatever this strange Abyss throws at you.

Release Date – June 5th EU / TBC NA

Visual novel Steins;Gate is a game that I will be keeping a close eye on. Set in Akihabara, the game follows a group of friends who accidentally invent a method of sending messages into their past. The discovery drags them into a world of conspiracy, where one choice can change the course of history. We are big fans of visual novels here at The Vita Lounge and hopefully this game will be another one that we can add to the list of ‘must plays’ for our favourite handheld!

LEGO Jurassic World

Release Date – June 12th EU & NA

Releasing the same week as the Jurassic World movie, LEGO Jurassic World will feature the three original Jurassic Park films and will also include the sure-fire summer blockbuster Jurassic World, giving gamers plenty of iconic moments (and hopefully that theme tune) from the series to relive!

J-Stars Victory Vs+

Release Date – June 26th EU / June 30th NA

J-Stars Victory VS+ is a celebration of the 45th anniversary of Shonen JUMP magazine and the 20th anniversary of V JUMP magazine. J-Stars Victory VS+ invites fans and gamers to play with their favourite manga/anime characters and progress in the JUMP World through different environments recalling Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece and other memorable moments. If you are a Manga and Anime fan, J-Stars Victory VS+ is jam packed with long hours of intense and amazing battles and will surely be a must-have addition to your PS Vita collection!

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3

Release Date – June 26th EU / June 30th NA

In Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 players will experience ‘If’ scenarios from the Warring States period as well as being introduced to new modes and actions. Players can also expect to see ‘Hyper Attacks’ and ‘Rage Attacks’ that were introduced in Samurai Warriors 4, as well as over 50 military commanders from the game!

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3: V Generation

Release Date – June 30th NA

This PS Vita exclusive puts you back in the shoes of Nep-Nep, who has been sucked into the 1980s and must battle for those elusive shares to send her back the modern world. With a great battle system, excellent dialogue and hilarious fourth-wall breaking humor, Neptunia fans are in for a treat. Re;Birth3 will have dual audio, PSTV support and many more key features such as new combos, world modification plans, new weapons and items to craft and free DLC!
