Famitsu has revealed that Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Fortress is coming to Vita as a free-to-play title.

Bandai Namco’s newest Gundam game will finally stray away from the musou style the series has been known for; taking a cue from classics such as Starcraft and Command & Conquer, Bandai Namco promises fans will get the full real-time strategy experience in free-to-play form when Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Fortress releases.

Details have been sparse regarding a release date and how the free to play mechanic will work, but you can be sure that any updates on the matter will be found right here at The Vita Lounge

    Neato!

  • AeroQC .

RTS on Vita? That could work with the touch-screen. Have their been other RTSs that I haven’t heard of on Vita?

The Zombie game, it was a sequel to a Mini.

Unfortunately this game being free-to-play means that it will only be available in the Japanese PSN, which I’m certain is a problem for most non-Japanese Vita owners.

I’ll love to see it localized, but Bandai Namco hasn’t been very interested into bringing Gundam games to the west (other than the Musou games) ever since the Crossfire fiasco.

Sounds as if its a real shame this is f2p. This post made me want my copy of Gundam Breaker more which is due between 3rd and 21st June.
