PM Studios and Acttil have announced that (in partnership with Nurijoy) they’re bringing SUPERBEAT: XONIC to North America later this year.

The spiritual successor to the DJ MAX series, and already announced for Korean market release earlier this year, SUPERBEAT: XONIC has now been confirmed to be headed to North American shores in both physical and digital formats.

Featuring forty-five music tracks and two hundred different play patterns, the team at PM Studios has worked hard to deliver a product they’re proud of, and that lives up to their fans’ expectations.

Michael Yum, CEO of PM Studios had this to say about SUPERBEAT: XONIC coming to PlayStation Vita;

“I’m extremely excited to work with my former colleagues and bring what I feel is our spiritual successor to DJ MAX. We’ve been listening to the fans and decided that the Vita was the best platform for our players.”

Following up with this bit on the teams behind the title;

“I’m also very honored to work with the talented folks at both Nurijoy and Acttil on this new endeavor. With the former DJMAX developers at both PM Studios and Nurijoy developing what they’re best at and by allowing Acttil to help us bring this game to the market, I feel we can give the players something they can really enjoy.”

If that’s not enough to entice you, some of the key features of SUPERBEAT: XONIC have been detailed as well;

    Kyle you’ve made my day! I’d been searching for a sequel to Tecknika Tune for ages and only found the ludicrously expensive, IAP riddled mobile sequel. Guess I’m going to be importing this one. Dj Max Fever and Tecknika Tune are having the dust removed off them later!

    Even though I generally suck at the DJMax games, I love the music featured in them. If the soundtrack for this one is as good as those then that alone will probably get me to try this one out.

      It’s probably the sky high difficulty. Because bemani has been so popular for so long in South Korea the majority of them are rhythm wizards so the learning curve tends to be quite steep.

    DJ Max 3 is till forty bucks on the North America psn… I was gonna buy it to check it out, but then I saw the price, and thought otherwise. lol.

      Ha! Same here! You would think that it would have to go on sale eventually but nope.

      I just checked Amazon and the price range is currently at the low end $35 all the way up to $90 depending on the vendor. I guess I wouldn’t feel TOO bad about shelling out $35 for physical copy. Hopefully this new game will have a more wallet friendy price point.

        Dj Max 3 I’ve heard is worth skipping as they changed several things that peed off fans. Try dj max fever. I bought it on psn here for 15.99.
