The Bloodstained news train just keeps on rolling here at The Vita Lounge. On its way to become the most successful game ever on Kickstarter, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has promised a new treat to Vita owners everywhere. One of its more ambitious stretch goals was to create a retro-style mini-game that would function as a prequel for the game.  The $5.5 million that has been pledged for Bloodstained was more than enough to cover this goal.

The mini-game will try to shed some light on the events that happened before Miriam wakes up, and it will be set entirely in the Bloodstained universe.

Backers of the game who pledged $28 or more will get the game at no additional cost. It will later be available as a separate game for purchase for non-backers. People who backed the game at the Physical+Digital level will be eligible for two copies of the mini-game when it is released.

If the Vita version doesn’t have trophiez, I’ll probably get it on 3DS. Diversification!

    • No trophies? Not going to happen. PSMobile is going away, so it will have to be a native title – meaning trophies. 🙂

I was obviously planning to get the main game on Vita. I was just considering giving my 3DS a shot at this. I prefer to give the two handhelds equal love and attention. Persona Q one day, Tales of Hearts R the next.

        • Nothing wrong with that, just responding to the trophy bit as it seemed like it was your deciding factor. 🙂

      I thought there wasn’t a 3DS version?

The prequel mini-game is for 3DS as well, even though the main game is not.

Man… now REALLY I wish I was able to back this.

Is this getting a proper physical release? Or is the physical for backers only?
