Grand Knights History director Tomohiko Deguchi is bringing his new title Grand Kingdom to our handheld playground later this year.

Grand Kingdom takes place in a world filled with magic, weaponry, and warfare. In game you’ll have the option to pledge towards one of four nations in search of military conquest; fighting those who represent other nations and even taking or defending territory. As for the actual battles, they’re¬†executed in a turn-based style with players issuing orders to their mercenaries as their turn – sort of like History Legends of War,¬†but not quite as Western.

Though listed as an online RPG, it will have an offline mode as well – and promises a robust story experience backed by both full voice support and dialogue scenes with animated portraits.

Take a look at the trailer below for a better idea of what to expect;

Currently ~65% complete, Grand Kingdom is being developed by Deguchi’s studio MonoChro and is set to be published in Japan by Spike Chunsoft sometime later this year.

    Always wanted to play Grand Knights History on psp. Maybe this one will make it over?

    • EndRant

      Me too! I never understood why it wasn’t brought over.

        Oh, I hink the psp was on it’s way out by then. I guess it didn’t make sense to bring it over for a system in it’s death throes. But thats just my guess.

    Somehow I don’t see this game coming over, then again stranger things have happened.
