But will Vita owners be left disappointed?

E3 was particularly lacking when it came to big game announcements for the PS Vita. But one title that has been eagerly anticipated by Vita owners and was noticeably missing from Sonys Press Conference was the unveiling of Gravity Rush 2, the sequel to 2012’s originally PS Vita exclusive action RPG Gravity Rush.

But in a recent interview at E3, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida responded to a question regarding the sequel, saying:

“That’s another project that we’re waiting for the right time to unveil. I’ve been playing the game for some time”

Quite when this will be is anyones guess, but the main issue for owners of the PS Vita is whether the game will return to handheld at all. In March, the Korean ratings board classified Gravity Rush Remastered as a PS4 release. Though we hope this is not the case, all signs do point to the sequel following the same path to consoles.

For all future announcements on Gravity Rush 2, keep checking back to TVL.

Gravity Rush coming to PS4 is now inevitable, I’m confident if it comes out this gen it will be cross platform for both PSVITA & PS4.

  • WillMerfi

If it only ends up being available on PS4 it’s going to be heartbreaking.

  • KaL-V3

Yeah, it’s more than likely it going to be PS4Vita. I WILL be supporting on the Vita and might pick it up later on on a Plus deal or something.

I do hope that we see this announced as a Vita game at TGS in October, however, given that Sony recently announced they’re no longer building AAA games for the system, my hopes a growing dimmer.

I really hope it physically comes out for vita but I can just tellit’s going to be PS4 only and they will tell all us vita owners “If you wanna play it on vita, remote play it” But I don’t want to sony 😉 I don’t want to……

But doesn’t the fact its getting a sequel mean that it’s success was mainly thanks to Vita owners?

  • AeroQC .

I found Gravity Rush to be quite entertaining, got it for a very cheap deal (0.81$) what with PS+ and a sale happening at the same time. But it feels like one of those Vita titles that aren’t the best for on-the-go play, what with gyroscopic play and all that ( I was once in the middle of a “cut-scene” when the bus I was on took a left turn and the whole view shifted 90 degrees, it was very awkward, and funny, to look at).

Dunno, I’ve read “right time” as “when we finally fully kick vita in the mud and noone will care that it’s a stolen ps4-exclusive”. You can never trust a company as disgraceful as sony.

  • Mauricio Quintero

I’m gonna chop off someones balls in PS if this is a PS4 exclusive.

  • Jordan Greene

I feel that they’re gonna pull a Tearaway and make this a PS4 game instead. However, I thought that Sony actually gave significantly more attention to the Vita at this year’s E3 than they have in years.

  • Frederick Wong

I’m really hoping that Gravity Rush 2 remains a Vita-exclusive, but with the way that things are now, it’ll probably be a PS4/Vita game. Hopefully, there’s more news on the game soon.

I don’t know why they don’t use kickstarter to see the interest in vita games (shenmue 3) instead of just totally dismissing the fact the vita exists
