Want to know if there is anything you should be getting excited about from the upcoming Vita line up? We tell you our most wanted Vita titles which will be out later this year!

Severed (Non Mover)

Still our most anticipated title, we should see the latest Vita game from Guacamelee! developers DrinkBox Studios this summer. With touch mechanics to unleash offensive and defensive mechanics (and lopping of enemy body parts), this adventure from a “fully stylised twisted reality” is one to look out for. Check out our interview in our second issue of our magazine with the studio!

Not a Hero (Up)

Not A Hero

This has just released on PC and we are both incredibly jealous and more excited than ever. Coming to you from Bafta-award winning developers Roll 7 and featuring some clever mechanics and humour thrown into a 2.5D side scrolling cover shooter, you serve as the anthropomorphic rabbit/mayoral candidate BunnyLord – rather violently cleaning up the city during the course of your election campaign. Vote Bunnylord!

Danganronpa: Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls (<>)

Danganronpa Another Episode-Ultra-Despair-Girls_screen4

Filling the gaps between the two existing Danganronpa titles – Trigger Happy Havoc and Goodbye Despair – you are put in the shoes of Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa as they attempt to escape a city full of despair. With third person adventure sequences, new riddles, some puzzles, and even some familiar faces to encounter… if you loved the two previous titles this one should most certainly be on your radar.

Volume (Up)

Slated for release this summer, we are really starting to get excited for Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell’s newest title. A reimagining of the classic Robin Hood story (and featuring a great voice cast, including the talents of Andy Serkis); if you love stealth games and puzzles, this one will really keep you busy.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night (New)

Ppersona 4: Dancing All Night

A rhythmic spin-off of Persona 4, this new title is set some time after the events of Inaba and begins with the Investigation Team reforming to investigate a series of local disappearances. With over 30 tracks – many remixed from the original title – fans of rhythm titles and/or the Persona series will no doubt be entertained.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 (Down)

Resident Evil Revelations 2

We know that this episodic survival horror title has released on other systems already, and all we have is a “summer” window for our Frima Studio port – but we’re still quite excited for it. Set between Resident Evil 5 and 6, the game features Claire Redfield as the main protagonist; and this time around you can be sure to expect a decent story to go with the zombies and horror.

Steins;Gate (Up)

Steins; Gate

It will already be out by the time you read this, bur anticipation for this visual novel has really gone up a level. When a group of friends from Akihabara discover a way of sending messages into the past, they are dragged into a world of conspiracy where one choice can change the course of history.

Bastion (New)

For many gamers the first experience of the genius that is Supergiant Games may have been Transistor, but their first title was actually the Action/RPG title Bastion – which launched to critical acclaim back in 2011. We are very excited for this Vita port, which features some great visuals, gameplay, and a fantastic story.

J-Stars Victory Vs Plus (Down)

J Stars

Also out this month, this epic battle game features anime and manga characters from all over the spectrum, as well as a story mode which sees you battling through each character’s pre-fabricated universes. With 2-vs-2 battles and an exclusive arcade mode, you have three ways to kick some Japanese class across the Dragonball Z, One Piece, and Bleach spectrums – to name a few.

Mighty No. 9 (<>)

Mighty No. 9

Sigh; we know the Vita version won’t be releasing at the same time as it’s PlayStation siblings, but this “spiritual successor” to Mega Man is still exciting us. Coming from legendary prouder Kenji Inafune and bringing in almost $4 million in Kickstarter revenue, you play as Beck; the ninth in a series of “Mighty” units and his mission is to discover and defeat the villain threatening the fate of the planet.

So that’s our list for now! Do you agree with us, or is there something that is exciting you more than these ten? Let us know in the comments!

I pretty much want all of these with the exception of J-Stars.

Theres a lot of decent games coming to Vita. It will definitely keep me busy until the end of the year.

I just saw this video on youtube of upcoming vita games. I hadn’t even heard of some of them! Makes me even more excited.

Yatagarasu really coming to vita? It’s gonna come out for pc in July iirc but I haven’t heard anything official for a vita release.

  • Nonscpo

Steins;Gate, J Stars, and Dangan Ronpa Another Episode for me on this list 😉

  • Kaetokiha

I’m not really interested in any of those. I have Bastion on PC, never played any DanganRonpa (but i have the first game waiting for me to play it), and i need to see if P4D will be dual audio (most likely it won’t). I don’t want to be “that kind of guy”, but sorry Atlus, no japanese audio no buy for me.
I also have Steins;Gate on PC, but in this case i’m REALLY considering pick it for my Vita.

    What i’m looking forward is…
    Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax
Corpse Party: Blood Drive (Everafter Edition)
Those 2 will be day one buy.

    I’m also interested in…
Ar Nosurge Plus (it’s dual audio, so it’s an easy buy)
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (i’ll buy if i don’t hate the voices, please Xseed)
Dungeon Travelers 2: The Royal Library & the Monster Seal (the Japanese audio is included in this even thought is an Atlus game? Thanks god my faith is renewed. Easy buy)
    Senran Kagura Estival Versus
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 3: V Century (i would like to play this on my Vita, but the Steam version is so much cheaper for me =/)

Some Japanese games that i’m praying (please, please, please…) for an US release…
    Atelier Escha & Logy
    Luminous Arc Infinity

    Yoru no Nai Kuni

  • Gimme DR: Another Episode… More Despair is ALWAYS welcome!

  • BoyBigEyes

Mighty No. 9 and Severed!!! Danganronpa: Another Episode, i will think about it, looks interesting!

  • Ashten Strider

Ultra Despair Girls, J Stars, Mighty No 9, Steins;Gate, and maybe Bastion for me 😛

  • Dchaundy1

Great looking list. Not a hero, Steins Gate, Mighty No 9 and RE:R2 in particular look awesome. I’m also really excited for The Banner Saga and Papers Please.
