Helldivers has proven to be a fun and chaotic adventure. Fans of the game have spent hours fighting for Super Earth and protecting it from the enemy infestations that threaten it. Now, new clues are coming to light that indicate the “fight for liberty and democracy” might be appearing in a store near you. A physical retail release of Helldivers? It appears likely.

Our friends at the Brazilian games’ rating board have once again leaked some new information that has caused a few eyebrows to raise (thank you Brazil!). They have announced the new rating for a release of Helldivers entitled: Helldivers Super-Earth Ultimate Edition. While this alone doesn’t mean much, it might when coupled with one other clue.

Play-Asia has now put up a pre-order for a release of Helldivers that will be available in August. All indications are that this is for a retail release of the game and not a digital code. Of course, we won’t know for certain until it comes out.

Hopefully, if Helldivers does come to retail, it won’t be restricted to just Asia and will be released to retailers in Western markets as well. Only time will tell. If this rumor proves to be true, then the fight for Super-Earth just got that much more interesting.

I’d get it again. As much as I love it, I’d rather have it in hand and the space on my memory card.

I completely agree. It’s an amazing game and one of my favorites. The only thing I wish they would change is to let us remap the buttons on the Vita. The 2 back touch functions are ones I want mapped to buttons and vice versa.

I was wondering about whether to get the DLC for this game, and now this seems a good reason not to. I would love a physical copy!

On the otherhand, they might do what Borderlands 2 did and provide the DLC only as download codes in order to devalue second hand copies of the game. :/

I agree with Lester, love this game and would rather buy it retail than pay silly memory card prices to keep downloading games. Remap of the buttons would be a good idea

I haven’t played the game, but I would definitely be willing to pick it up if this is indeed a game on a cart (and not the dreaded code in a box).
