Siliconera is reporting that Vanillaware – creator of the excellent Vita titles Dragon’s Crown and Muramasa Rebirth – is┬áteaming up with publisher Atlus again to bring its classic title Odin Sphere to PS4, PS3 and Vita under the name Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir.

Odin Sphere

Much like Muramasa Rebirth, which was originally a Wii title, Odin Sphere won’t just be a straight port with some HD flair. Gameplay systems will be re-created and modernized. It releases on January 14, 2016 in Japan for 7,980 yen. No information on when/if this port will make its way West was given.

Holy shit, fucking YES. Not only we get the same perfect story, but it comes with improved graphics, a ton of new content and revamped gameplay. The gameplay seems to be more like Murasama now, which is perfect for me.

My only complain to the original game was that the characters didn’t differentiate too much from each other (gameplay wise). They all had most of the same moves and basically one different move. You can see in the trailer this will changed.

It’s just a pity that the game will take forever to come to west. =/

I really hope this is localized. I love Odin Sphere, and ever since Muramasa I’ve always wanted to see it on my Vita.

Looks just as beautiful as Muramasa. That’s reason enough for me to want it.

This looks great, as someone who hasn’t played the original, it would be great to experience this on the Vita.

Online play. I can feel it.
