We recently brought word that Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir would be making it’s way to PlayStation Vita in 2016 courtesy of Vanillaware, but more news about the game has been surfacing around the internet since the initial reveal.
Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is essentially a remake of the original game in the series, but Vanillaware have revealed that a port of the original game will also be included in the package. A port and a remake in the same package, sounds pretty neat!
“Odin Sphere is a title that was loved and also one that was received with harsh feedback,” says Ohnishi. “It was made to be a successor of Princess Crown, but it ended up resulting in something that betrayed its original form.” Said Kentaro Ohnishi upon being interviewed about the release.
When asked about what features the new version of the game would feature, Ohnishi had the following to say;
“We’re adding monsters that we weren’t able to add in the original version as mid-bosses in the new title, While they are mid-bosses, some of them might be made even better than bosses in the original version. Additionally, enemies from the original version have new AI, so I believe you’ll get to play with a fresh new sense.”
Also included was the first batch of screenshots for the game, which you can see below. For more news leading up to the games January 14th release in Japan, make sure you keep your eyes locked on The Vita Lounge.
