Late last week Big ben Interactive announced a new title for the PS Vita – Handball 16, along with a teaser video and a handful of WIP screens.

Described as the “first handball game on next generation consoles” the game is being developed by French studio Eko Software and is slated for release later this year.

Big Ben explained the screen demonstrate the different views, visuals and shots available in the game, and that the title will include the classic Career and Season modes, but also a new multiplayer mode (online or local). It will allow players to take control of the official teams of the greatest national championships, and “apply the authentic strategies of the sport”.

With a large FIFA shaped hole in Vita gamers libraries later this year, will you be in the market for a new sports title? Let us know in the comments what you think about Handball 16!

Can’t say I know much about the sport (I might have seen about five minutes of a match during the last Olympics), but I’m glad to see some variety in the sports games market.
