DrinkBox Studios’ next game, Severed, has been delayed.

Severed is a touch-based game that is being developed for Vita and was supposed to release for the handheld this Summer. Players take control of a girl that awakens to find her family – along with her left arm – missing. The game is her quest to get them back.

DrinkBox had the following to say about the delay:

“[It is] days away from hitting alpha… Severed is a really different game from anything we’ve made before and we want to take a few additional months playtesting and tuning so that we can make it the best game it can be. We also sufficient time to add more memes and dumb jokes.”

There is good news for those anticipating the game however; DrinkBox has released a trio of new screenshots to tide you over!

We recently sat down with DrinkBox Studios to discuss all things Severed, the Vita and other things. Make sure to check It out while you wait out this delay in the name of quality.

At least it’s for a good reason. For what I know, DrinkBox wants this game to hit the Vita hard like no other ever did, despite the way it looks. We all want some extra stuff for a PS Vita game, it’s just great to see they’re addressing it.

“A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.” 😉
