Falcom and Chara-Ani have announced that they’re working on an enhanced version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Evolution Second Chapter – the direct sequel to Trails in the Sky.

The Vita release of the game is set to include touchscreen controls, enhanced graphics, new animated cinematics, new character illustrations (including ones made specifically for event scenes), more battle effects, a full voice-over for the main story, and an arranged soundtrack from Falcom’s in-house jdk band. It’ll also see tweaks to the Chain Craft combination system, though to what extend hasn’t been clarified.

Trails in the Sky Evolution SC is even set to see the return of field attacks – a gameplay addition from Evolution FC that lets players land a strike on a monster in the field (before battle). A proper hit on a monster in the field will start you in an advantageous battle position, however a hit from a monster (yes, that’s possible too) will start you in a battle where they have the upper hand.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Evolution Second Chapter is due out in Japan this December, with no word yet on a Western localization.

Man. We still haven’t gotten the second game and it’s been out so long in japan that they’re getting an improved rerelease? Urgh, it hurts. Lol
