Have you been waiting for news on Rainbow Skies for the PS Vita? It seems to have been in development for a long time and if you wanted to know when you can expect the follow-up to Rainbow Moon then you might be please to learn that the game will be out in the second half of 2016.

Speaking to the EU PlayStation Blog, SideQuest Studios CEO Markus Pukropski explained a little more about the upcoming strategy RPG.

He explained that the studio had taken on board a lot of feedback, which has resulted an “increased emphasis on storytelling, writing, character backgrounds and acting, so players can expect a more interesting and well-crafted plot that features many twists and turns along the way. The complex background story consists of multiple, interwoven narratives, told through easy to read dialogue that is entertaining.”

He also said that SideQuest Studios had enlisted the help of a dedicated story and script writer, and that the original monologue system from Rainbow Moon has been replaced by a more complex dialogue system. Now, up to four characters can speak simultaneously which leads to much more lively conversations. They have also implemented numerous new animations, emoticons and conversation specific icons that help convey the feelings and moods that our heroes undergo during their journey.

Players can also expect to experience “action clips”, which are short cut-scenes which play when you reach certain points in a story which are the focus of a specific action, character or object. With no text or conversations these scenes help with explaining the situation, introduce new game elements or simply spice up events.

We have also created several short cut scenes, we call “action clips”, which are played when players reach certain check points in the story that focus on specific actions, characters or objects. Action clips don’t contain text or conversations, but they do help in explaining the current situation, introduce new game elements or simply act as a way to spice up in game events.

Reacting to feedback, Rainbow Skies will also have the ability to skip this increased storytelling at anytime, and the game will keep track of everything in a convenient log detailing every mission and sub-task, as well as handy information on your next objective so that you don’t have to worry about missing out on vital information!

Sounds like they’re trying hard to improve their game. I hope they do well.

On an unrelated note, your second and third paragraphs basically say the same thing, just worded slightly differently.

…Meanwhile, at WB Games, nobody says a word about Bastion for PS Vita.
Maybe we’ll have to wait for the next PS Experience for a status update..?

Was really looking forward to playing this game THIS year. Somewhat bummed to hear I have another year of waiting at minimum.
