When Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax launches in the west this October, a lot of gamers may find themselves confused with some of the character in the roster, some of these characters have never had any western exposure, luckily we’ve got some details on some of these individuals for you.
Quenser Barbotage is a character from Heavy Object an anime which sees him as the lead protagonist, in it he is an alaskan mechanic who is learning to repair military weapons. During his time learning he joins the 37th Mobile Maintenance Battalion on the front lines of war for the Legitimacy Kingdom.
His special abilities include the use of guns and bombs to attack his opponents, he can also call upon the help of his more combat worthy friends for his special attacks including a character named Heivia Winchell who appears with a rocket launcher to help cover Quenser while he performs ariel attacks. In the Heavy Object anime, Heivia is Quenser’s best friend.
Next up is Erio Towa the young female protagonist of the anime Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko. In the anime she disappears and upon her return she believes she is an alien after suffering from amnesia. Although she eventually recovers from the amnesia it plays a large role in the story.
In Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax her abilities include a more defensive skill which is taken from her personality in the anime, wrapping herself up in her futon when she becomes nervous. As more of a support character, she will often leave the confines of her futon to act as a shield. Her fighting style can be rather generic, with her tripping into enemies to inflict damage upon them.
Another support character that players may not know too much about is Mashiro Shiina from The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, she is known for her excellent art skills and is attending Suimei University where she is aiming to get her degree in art, she is also the love interest of this particular anime’s main character, Sorata.
Her abilities in the game include her throwing baumkuchen cakes at her opponents as well as summoning four of Sorata’s pet cats to attack her enemies.
And lastly we have Dokuro the angel from Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan. In the anime she was sent from the past to kill the series’ hero, Sakura Kusakabe, but instead of killing him she ends up falling in love with him.
In Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax she has two support attacks, the first attack sees her wielding a spiky club known as Excaliborg, which she will use to hit her opponents, her second attack will see her drop from above to attack the enemy, which makes sense given that she’s an angel character.
Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax launches in the US on October 7th with the Vita version priced at $29.99. Be sure to let us know in the comments if you knew of these characters before you read this article and if you know of anything about them not included.
