Mike Bithell has revealed this afternoon that the Vita version of his upcoming stealth game has been delayed to an unannounced date in the future.
That’s right folks, it looks like the highly anticipated Volume from Mike Bithell (of Thomas Was Alone fame) has been delayed last minute on PlayStation Vita – even though it’ll still hit PlayStation 4 this week as planned.
Here’s the press release in full, explaining the delay;
Hey all, Mike here.
First, the good news: Volume is still very much on course for its planned release dates of August 18 on Steam globally and PlayStation 4 in North America, with an August 19 PS4 launch in Europe. That’s happening.
Unfortunately, we unexpectedly had to make the decision to hold off on the Vita version for a couple weeks to get it where we want it. It’s so very nearly ready, but it needs a little more love. A few personal problems and issues have slowed down our submittal, so even though the game is “done” on Vita, we still have some QA process to go through (because that stuff matters).
Crossbuy remains in effect, meaning that if you get the game on PS4, the Vita version will be waiting for you the second it’s out of the oven, at no extra cost.
The party still starts on August 18, it’s just that the Vita, the coolest of all the kids, will be arriving a little fashionably late.
Cheers, and apologies,
So what do you think about the delay, and the fact that it’s so last minute? Are you mad? Sad? Indifferent? Wondering what Volume is?
