A long while ago, we heard that the indie platformer VVVVVV would be “imminent” to the Vita – well, after months and months of waiting, today we have an actual release date.

During the weekly PlayStation Blogcast, the crew announced that VVVVVV will be coming August 25th in North America. This should make Vita fans happy, because the port was announced two years and we haven’t heard much out of it besides a few supposed trophy lists.

You’ll only have to wait a few more days to get your hands on VVVVVV, but until then check out this gameplay trailer:

Lot’s of dying in this game, enjoy it you gaming masochist!

  • Buckybuckster

Hmmmm…. I wonder how they ever came up with such an odd name? I’m completely at a loss behind the reasoning.

    • RoboAddy

      Not sure if serious..

I’ll bite though; it represents the movements of the player character through normal gameplay.

      • Devin Hudson

Really? I always thought it was because the names of all six crew members began with the letter V.

  • Wert

Great game! Still waiting for news on an EU release though…

I’ve already played the game on 3DS (back in the days before the Vita had even been released), but I might pick it up again for Vita during a sale or something. If I remember correctly, the 3DS version had some kind of glitch where you couldn’t complete the post-game content properly, and I don’t think it ever got patched. So as long as that problem doesn’t persist in this version, I’ll still have some new content to look forward to.
