Super Meat Boy is set for an October 6th release date according to the PlayStation website. While unconfirmed by Team Meat or Sony it is interesting to note that the release date falls on the first Tuesday of the month when the free PlayStation Plus games of the month go live.

Back in June when it was first announced that Super Meat Boy was coming to the PlayStation Vita, Team Meat revealed that the game would be part of the free games for PlayStation Plus members; a way of saying thanks for ‘patiently waiting.’

“Super Meat Boy is a tough as nails platformer where you play as an animated cube of meat who’s trying to save his girlfriend (who happens to be made of bandages) from an evil fetus in a jar wearing a tux.”

Looks like we’ll have to wait for a PlayStation Blog post for confirmation of Super Meat Boy’s release date – although it seems certain that this date will be when we can get our first experience of Team Meat’s platformer on the PlayStation Vita!
